Delivering with Passion

Book Linda CohnShe can relate to the true sports fan because she IS a true sports fan. She is a master storyteller and uses her wit, imagination and passion for sports to make the stories she delivers come alive. She connects with her viewers, because she is the real deal.

Linda Cohn has broken through the sports casting glass ceiling as one of the top broadcasters and anchors in sports. A native New Yorker, Linda Cohn endorsements over the years have included a long held fandom of New York teams, including the New York Rangers, the New York Mets, the New York Giants and the New York Knicks. Cohn graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego before starting her career in local sports radio. ABC hired her to serve as one of their radio sports anchors in 1987, making her the first female to hold that position.

Since 1992, sports fans who watch ESPN have regularly heard news of the latest matchups and victories in sports reported by Linda Cohn, who has held the anchor position off and on throughout the years. Among the Linda Cohn appearances in accepting awards throughout her career include an induction into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, induction into the State University of New York Oswego Athletic Hall of Fame and receiving the Women’s Sports Journalism Award from the Women’s Sports Foundation.

What People are Saying

Moderator at the Green Sports Alliance 2015 Summit

“Linda Cohn is one of today’s most recognizable and trusted sportscasters, and we are honored to have her influential voice help advance the sports greening movement. At the Green Sports Alliance’s 2015 International Summit, Linda brought great energy and credibility to her moderation of a panel of hockey players and environmental stewards at the 2015 NHL Sustainability Symposium. Her intelligence stimulated the panelists and inspired the audience with the importance of our mission.”

–Allen Hershkowitz, PhD, President of Green Sports Alliance

Emcee for “All-Star Evening” for Drake University

“The All-Star evening was a spectacular night for Sandy, Drake University, The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center, and our work with Character Counts in Iowa.

I am so honored and proud to work with you and your great team. Your passion and dedication bring our work to life…

…Please pass along my most sincere appreciation to Linda and the entire ESPN team for all they do to enhance our work. I appreciate what you do every day to make a difference in the lives of others — including mine.”

–J. Scott Raecker, Director | The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center | Drake University

Moderator at the 2015 NHL Sustainability Symposium

“For years, Linda Cohn has been an ambassador for the game of hockey. We were quite fortunate to bring her into the fold at the 2015 NHL Sustainability Symposium, an event celebrating the NHL’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Linda moderated a panel about the unique connection hockey players have to the planet — given our reliance on cold weather and fresh water. Her enthusiasm for the cause and her love for the game was apparent, as she connected with Andrew Ference and I — and more importantly, the audience — on important issues in a fun and truly engaging style.”

–Pat LaFontaine, VP of Hockey Development and Community Affairs at NHL
